Halle Berry might have just disclosed the identity of her mystery man! The Oscar winning actress not only confirmed her romance with Singer, Van Hunt but also made a fashion statement while doing so.
“Now ya know…”
Berry recently took to Instagram, sharing a photograph of herself wearing a T-shirt with the 50-year-old musical artist’s name on it. She cheekily captioned the photo, “now ya know… ♥️????????” for curious fans who have been speculating the identity of her then-mystery lover for a while now. Except this time, she tagged her man in the photo, who also reposted it to his page, writing, “There you go…”
Teasing Fans
Berry even teased fans by putting a foot emoji at the end of her caption, referring to her Instagram post that she shared in July of her playing footsie with her new beau. At the time, the Monster’s Ball actress captioned the post, ‘Sunday, Funday’ alongside a shot of her feet mingled with, who now we know, turned out to be Van Hunt.
Berry seemed to love poking fun at her fans because a month later, in August, she shared another shot of her feet alongside Hunt’s, while thanking fans for their birthday wishes as she turned 54.
“Waking up Vegas! ☀️ Thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes from my friends and my very supportive and loyal fans!” Berry wrote at the time. “You ALL helped to make my birthday extra special ♥️.”
“Kisses land softly”
Turns out, Halle isn’t the only one who likes teasing fans. Hunt has also teased his romance with the “Bruised” actress, on his Instagram account by sharing a photo of himself smiling at the cameras while a woman, who appears to be Berry, gives him kisses on the cheek. “My bamboo,” he wrote in the caption at the time. Then, In late August, the singer shared another photo of himself looking into the camera while Berry plants a peck on his cheek. “Kisses land softly,” he wrote at the time.
Hunt, who is a singer-songwriter, released his debut album Van Hunt in 2004 and a follow up, On the Jungle Floor, in 2006. Like his girlfriend, Hunt has also garnered critical acclaim in his field. In 2007, he won the Grammy Award for Best R&B performance by a duo or group. With vocals for appearing on the tribute version of the song “Family Affair” by Sly & the Family Stone.
Halle’s Past Relationships
This is Berry’s first public relationship since her marriage to French actor, Olivier Martinez, with whom she shares a 6-year-old son, Maceo. The former couple filed for divorce in October 2015, after two years of marriage. Berry recently filed to represent herself instead of an attorney in their divorce case.
The 54 year old actress has been divorced twice before. First from baseball player David Justice, whom she married in 1993, and then from singer, Eric Benét, whom she married in 2001. She also has a 12-year-old daughter, Nahla Ariela Aubry, with her ex-boyfriend, model, Gabriel Aubry.
“I’m very much a relationship-oriented person, I always want to be with someone”
Earlier this year, in April, the Catwoman actress appeared on an Instagram Live stream with her friend Lena Waithe. The two talked about Berry’s love life and parenting amid the early days of the COVID-19 shutdown.
“I’ve learned a lot being with my children. They are the best company for me right now. And when I divorced Maceo’s dad I’ve been pretty alone by myself going on three years now,” Berry told Waithe. “Decidedly so, for sure.” She continued, “I have decided to take time. I’m very much a relationship-oriented person, I always want to be with someone. But I decided, no I’m going to slow my roll, I’m going to take a minute and I’m going to spent time with me.”
She added, “And it’s been so great that I think I might stay like this!” However, it looks like Halle did end up finding someone special after all!
