Cardi B and Offset are officially calling it quits after three years of marriage.
According to online court records, the “WAP” rapper has filed for divorce at Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta, on Tuesday. Cardi is said to have said that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and “there are no prospects for a reconciliation.” This comes after the “Money” rapper found out that Offset had been unfaithful, yet again.
“Offset has pretty much cheated the entire time they’ve been together”
The couple share a 2-year-old daughter together named Kulture Kiari, while Offset also has three other children from previous relationships. According to a source, “Offset has pretty much cheated the entire time they’ve been together. But Cardi looked the other way because of the baby. She also didn’t want to be embarrassed. But she’s had enough.”
In her divorce filing, Cardi ‘is seeking primary physical custody as well as legal custody’ of their little girl, along with child support. She also hopes the divorce “will be settled by agreement of the parties,” and expects the rapper to handle her legal fees as well.
Another source in knowledge of the situation added, “Cardi does not trust Offset. She’s really tried for the last two years and has tried to forgive him. It’s been hard for her since the last cheating scandal and there have been rumors of him being unfaithful again,” said the insider. Referring to the multiple times the Migos rapper has been accused of infidelity.
“He has been pleading with her that he hasn’t, but many girls have come forward with claims. She had enough and decided to file,” the source explained, adding that Cardi “wants to be a good example for her daughter and women out there.”
“What do you want me to do? Start all over again and get cheated on again?”
The couple’s relationship has been marred with controversy from the very start. Cardi’s decision to file for divorce stems from previous accusations of infidelity. The rapper, who’s real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, accused Offset of cheating on her in 2018, just months after they had secretly tied the knot.
In January 2018, Cardi outwardly confirmed that Offset was at the center of a sex tape cheating scandal involving another woman, after a video of the same surfaced in December 2017.
At the time Cardi wrote, “No, it’s not right for a n**** to cheat. But what do you want me to do? Go f*** me another n****? Start all over again and get cheated on again? This s*** happens to everyone. People handle their relationships differently.” Despite trying times, the couple really struggled but reconciled in 2018 and Cardi made sure to make her relationship a top priority.
“I want to work out my s*** with my man, and I don’t got to explain why”
In a February 2018 interview the “I Like It” star opened up about her relationship and why she decided to stay through his infidelity.
“I know I look good, I know I’m rich, I know I’m talented. I know I could get any man I want — any basketball player, football player,” she said. “But I want to work out my s*** with my man, and I don’t got to explain why. I’m not your property. This is my life … I’m going to take my time, and I’m going to decide on my decision,” she added. “It’s not right, what he f***ing did. But people don’t know what I did, ’cause I ain’t no angel,” the Grammy award winning artist said at the time.
A few months later,in April 2018, the “Bodak Yellow” songstress confirmed that she was pregnant, debuting her growing baby bump during her first appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Then on July 10, 2018, Cardi gave birth to their precious baby girl, Kulture. She shared her joyous news with the world in a nude shot of her baby bump, captioning the Instagram post, “Kulture :’)…no better feeling ❤️.”
Then in December 2018, Cardi confirmed that she and Offset had split, and that they “grew out of love,” in a since deleted Instagram Video.
“I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby’s father for a hot minute now,” Cardi said. “We got a lot of love for each other. But things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time,” she said at the time. “It’s nobody’s fault, I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore. It might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father,” she concluded.
Offset pleaded for his wife to come back, offering a lengthy apology on Instagram a week after Cardi announced their split. After a brief separation, the divorce was called off, and the couple decided to give their relationship another chance.

In a recent interview that took place earlier this year in January, Cardi revisited her decision to forgive and reconcile with her husband following his infidelity.
“Everybody has issues,” Cardi said at the time. “I believe in forgiveness. I prayed on it. Me and my husband, we prayed on it. We had priests come to us. And we just came to an understanding like, bro, it’s really us against the world.”
“He has my back for everything, I have his back for everything. So when you cheat, you’re betraying the person that has your back the most,” she continued. “For me, monogamy is the only way. I’ll beat your ass if you cheat on me.”

Cardi also addressed all the flack she got for choosing to take her husband back, knowing well that he had cheated. The rapper’s decision was disliked by her fans and followers, with many of them revealing that they were disappointed in her.
“When me and my husband got into our issues, you know, he cheated and everything. I decided to stay with him and work together with him, a lot of people were so mad at me. A lot of women felt disappointed in me,” she said at the time. “But it’s real-life s***. If you love somebody and you stop being with them. And you’re depressed, and social media is telling you not to talk to that person because he cheated. You’re not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation. Then, if you get back with them, it’s like, how could you? You let all of us down. People that be in marriages for years, when they say till death do us part, they not talking about little arguments like if you leave the fridge open. That’s including everything.”
Cardi last posted about Offset on Aug. 20 when she promoted his group, Migos’, new music video. As for Offset, his last post of his wife was a kiss pic shared on Aug. 7.
He also shared another post on the same day where he praised her “WAP” music video.
“So proud of my wife. She works so hard and her creativity and mind is out this world,” he wrote in the Caption.
