Vidhu Vinod Chopra To Direct His 10th Film ‘Baarish’

Exactly last year, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s directorial venture Shikara (2020) was released in theaters. Featuring new characters Aadil Khan and Sadia, the film tells the sad story of the Kashmiri refugee exodus.

And it had a romantic background as it focused on couples living together through hardships and misery. And now Vidhu has started working on the next one, which is completely different from Shikara in terms of the kind of storytelling and plot.

Vidhu’s Next Directorial ‘Baarish’

At the online symposium of the Jaipur Literature Festival 2021, Vidhu Vinod Chopra in an interview with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) member Vani Tripathi Tikoo revealed that his next directing role is called Baarish. Vidhu also revealed that it is a crazy and exciting story about a middle-aged couple who wants to kill each other.

After Shikara, Vidhu Vinod Chopra begins work on his next directorial, Baarish

He promised that when the audience would watch the Baarish, they would not be able to believe that the person who made Shikara showed this flick. He also adds that he likes to try different types of all his products because “life becomes very boring for me if I start following a certain path.”

Psychological Thriller

A trade source says, “Baarish will be the 10th directorial film of Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It is a psychological thriller and from the plot, it sounds very exciting. And he has proved that he can handle thrillers well with films like Khamosh (1986), Parinda (1989), Mission Kashmir (2000) and Eklavya (2007).”

Trade sources from various publications have revealed, “The film is still at the scripting stage. Vidhu Vinod Chopra will go ahead with the film only after the script is locked. Even the casting hasn’t been decided yet. So it’ll take a while for the film to go on floors and to ultimately release.”
