Madonna has also joined the list of celebrities who have shown support to Britney Spears. Both Britney and Madonna had collaborated one time.
The singer took to her Instagram story on July 8 as she urged the justice system to give Britney her life back. She was wearing a Britney T-shirt and penned a message as well. The songwriter wrote, “Give this woman her life back. Slavery was abolished so long ago! Death to the greedy patriarchy that has been doing this to women for centuries. This is a violation of human rights! Britney we coming to get you out of jail!”
Madonna is not the only one who has been rallying for Britney’s freedom. Britney has been fighting to end her 13-year conservatorship that controlled her life as well as her finances. Both Madonna and Britney had collaborated on the Dance Club Songs chart-topper, Me Against the Music back in 2003.
For those of you who have forgotten, they had shared an onstage kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards that same year. Britney’s statement on the court about her conservatorship confirmed fans’ fear and caused the #FreeBritney movement.
Paris Hilton was one of the many stars who has come forward to support Britney. She had shared that she cannot imagine her life being controlled like that. Even Kim Kardashian showed her support for the pop star, although she did not mention the conservatorship, she did feel empathy towards Britney because of the media scrutiny.
The singer’s longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, submit his resignation after 25 years of being with Britney. Even the court’s appointed lawyer for Britney, Samuel Ingham has asked for resignation after the fall post-Britney’s shocking testimony. In her testimony, the pop star had said that he had stopped her from speaking the fact that she wanted her own legal team chosen by her. Samuel was the singer’s lawyer since 2008, appointed by her court during her conservatorship.
