Loki Show Finally Gives Him A Love Interest But Not How You Think

Marvel’s Disney+ series, Loki will finally see the God of Mischief get a love interest. But wait, it is not how you might expect it to be. Tom Hiddleston will be shining on our screens from next Wednesday i.e., June 9 as Loki. He will be reprising his role in his biggest MCU showcase yet.

The character has spent several movies under his brother’s shadow but finally Loki will be leading his own DIsney+ show. Loki will revolve around from the time he picked up the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. But his meddling with the timeline will get him into trouble with the Time Variance Authority aka the TVA.

As far as the trailer is concerned, Loki seems to be an adventure across space and time as well as a deep dive into the character. The character has been a long-time favourite hero within the MCU but his presence has always been centered around Thor. This series will enable fans to take a closer look at the character as it digs into his identity.

But let’s talk about his love interest which has finally come true. Loki will be finding time for love, however, it is not in the romantic sense. Michael Waldron, Loki’s head writer talked about the most central relationship of the series in a profile with Vanity Fair. This relationship is between Loki and Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius. The writer said, “Mobius and Loki, that’s one of the love stories you might see in Loki for sure. Although if you print that, knowing our fans, they’re going to take it the wrong way.”

The interviewer sensed which way that could go and compared the two with FBI agent Carl Hanratty and con man Frank Abagnale Jr. from Catch Me If You Can. To this Michael said, “Exactly. Right”. Mobius played by Owen Wilson is the TVA agent who has the task of keeping Loki in line as they go about fixing what he broke. The various clips have already teased their dynamic which promises to be full of banter.

Mobius seems to be getting under Loki’s skin in the trailer. Fans might be disappointed to learn Tom’s Loki is not destined for love just yet. But the relationship between Mobius and Loki will be fun to watch. Loki is often depicted as queer in the comics and there have been rumours about Disney+ exploring that. However, there has been no confirmation if it is the truth but it is clear that Loki will at least form some meaningful bond.
