Fast and Furious 9 Another Victim Of The Corona Pandemic

The Fast and Furious Team is planning on delaying their upcoming movie Fast and Furious 9. The fans were eagerly waiting for the ninth edition of the franchise.

Even though, the movie was originally set to release on May 22 but due to the growing concerns over coronavirus pandemic. The filmmakers have decided on delaying the movie until 2021. The published statement from the official handle of Fast 9 stated: ” We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga.”

Further, consoling the disappointed fans it said, “While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this move is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration.”

The movie was expected to be one of the highest-grossing movies of the year. The 19-year-old movie saga has made over 5 billion dollars for Universal Pictures. The successful franchise earns a majority of its earnings from overseas. With the last two movies making more than 400 million dollars in Asia alone.

The star cast of the movie plays an important role in drawing out crowds to the theater. Over the years, actors like Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, and John Cena have given significant boost to the,franchise.

However, Fast 9 is not the only movie suffering the wrath of this global pandemic. The filmmakers of the James Bond movie ‘No Time To Die’ already decided on postponing the movie until November this year.

Recently, Director John Krasinski decided to delay his upcoming movie ‘A Quiet Place 2’as well. Before long, Paramount followed and delayed their upcoming project ‘The Lovebirds’ indefinitely as well.
