The Walking Dead’s tenth season will air much later than average on AMC, and as a result, it has been a long time coming to Netflix. Season 10 has yet to be released on Netflix in the United States, so when will it be? Here’s what we’ve learned so far.
Despite getting a damaged image in later seasons, the series remains one of the best action shows on television today and AMC’s most popular programme. Season 9 (which premiered on Netflix in the United States in September 2019) saw one of the show’s main characters leave, so this season will focus on how the rest of the cast copes. Season 10 of The Walking Dead premiered on AMC on October 6, 2019 and will run until April 5, 2020. However, due to production issues, the final episode, titled “A Certain Doom,” was not able to air.
Release for The Walking Dead season 10
In previous years, new seasons of The Walking Dead were released on Netflix on a regular basis in September, but that was not the case this year. As previously reported, due to production issues, episode 16 has been delayed and will now air on AMC on October 4th, 2020, with the remaining episodes airing until April 4th, 2021.
There were several potential release dates for The Walking Dead season 10 on Netflix, as we previously said. We get part a and part b first, with the additional episodes following later (this is no longer the case). We have to wait until part b’s finale and the remaining six episodes air before it comes to Netflix. As a result, we expect to be able to watch Season 10 of The Walking Dead on Netflix by the end of summer 2021 at the very latest.
Given that season 11 is set to premiere in August 2021 (specifically on August 22nd), we might see season 10 of the show added to Netflix US in July 2021, but this has yet to be reported, and will serve as a good promotional tool for season 11. The Walking Dead is not available on Netflix in other countries, such as the United Kingdom and Australia. The show has shifted significantly in the last year, with Disney now serving as its primary distributor since acquiring it from 20th Television.
Will The Walking Dead be removed from Netflix?
We also hear reports that AMC will pull The Walking Dead from Netflix on a regular basis. This will hopefully be the case, but for the time being, Netflix is operating under a legacy contract. That means it’ll remain on Netflix as long as new seasons are released, and then it’ll be removed after a few years.
