Raj and DK of The Family Man praise Asif Basra, saying “He was fantastic”

Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, a filmmaking pair, have paid tribute to late actor Asif Basra, who will make his final screen appearance in the second season of their show The Family Man.

Basra, who was known for his scene-stealing performances in films like “Jab We Met,” “Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai,” and “Kai Po Che!” was discovered hanging in a private complex in McLeodganj, Dharamshala, in November of last year. He was 53 years old at the time. The trailer for “The Family Man” season two, which will star Basra as a marriage counsellor, was recently released by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.

On Thursday, the director duo took to Instagram to share a photo of Ajit from the show and expressed their sadness over the actor’s death. “In the past year, many of us have experienced the loss of a loved one. For Season 2, we worked with Asif Basra. He was a genius! And the fact that he committed suicide has left us heartbroken! Wherever you are, may your soul find peace and comfort… Basra, Asif!” go to their page and read the message.

The Family Man season two, starring Manoj Bajpayee, was set to premiere earlier this year. In the new season, Manoj’s Srikant Tiwari will face a new, strong, and brutal foe named Raaji, played by Samantha Akkineni, who is making her digital debut on the show.

Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Seema Biswas, Darshan Kumar, Sharad Kelkar, Sunny Hinduja, and Shreya Dhanwantary will all appear in the nine-part thriller series. The show’s second season will be available on Amazon Prime Video on June 4th.
