Nick Viall Reacts to ‘Bachelor’ Ex Vanessa Grimaldi’s Engagement to Joshua Wolfe
Even though love didn’t work out for season 21 winner, Vanessa Grimaldi on The Bachelor, she has found her happily ever after! The 32-year-old is happily engaged to her boyfriend, Canadian businessman, Joshua Wolfe.
The Bachelor alum took to Instagram on Monday to announce the happy news. Which came after Grimaldi told her Instagram followers on Sunday night that the couple was headed on a road trip to Quebec City.
“August 9th, 2020 will forever be the favorite day of my life!”
Vanessa revealed that Wolfe popped the question atop the Saint-Louis Gate “in what was an intimate, beautiful moment that was candle-lit.” An accordion player performed songs, including “A Whole New World” from Aladdin, for the fiancés. “It was absolutely beautiful!” the bride-to-be gushed, adding that the proposal completely took her by surprise.
Her enthusiasm extended to her Instagram post, where she captioned a gallery of pictures showing Wolfe on one knee and the couple embracing. “August 9th, 2020 will forever be my favorite DAY OF MY LIFE! @jbrwolfe YOU ARE MY EVERYTHING AND I CANNOT WAIT TO BE FOREVER AND EVER WITH YOU!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️#engaged’ she concluded happily.
“I’ve been ready to say YES!”
“I knew we were going to get engaged eventually, but I had no idea it was going to happen when it did,” she explained in an Interview. “Josh is the first person I am with, where I am at complete ease. And where I never second-guessed his love for me. I’ve been ready to say YES! I am the luckiest woman!” Ever the gentleman, Wolfe actually helped design Grimaldi’s beautiful 1-carat diamond and 18K yellow gold engagement ring. With the help of local Montreal jeweler, Teresa and Sons.
The couple have been dating for a year and a half. Which started when Wolfe slid into Grimaldi’s social media DMs. They spoke on the phone for a few weeks while she was out of town and had one of their first dates in New York City. “We booked flights without ever having met!” Grimaldi recalls. And the rest was history.
“Who knew my person was living in the same city as me all these years!”
“I feel at home whenever I am with Josh. His love and affection for his family is something I’ve always admired about him. And also what I’ve always looked for in a partner,” Grimaldi lovingly says. “I love how much he values family and that he loves spending quality time all together. That is how we both were raised. And one of the many reasons I grew a strong connection with him from the beginning. Who knew my person was living in the same city as me all these years!” Grimaldi pointed out since both her and Wolfe live in Montreal.
“I knew Vanessa was the one after the first Sunday lunch I had with her family in Saint Leonard”
Wolfe echoed his new fiance’s sentiment. “I knew Vanessa was the one after the first Sunday lunch I had with her family in Saint Leonard,” he tells. “It was then that I realized just how important family was to her, as it is to me. I felt so welcomed, and just grateful at the idea that they may one day become my extended family. I felt like I was at home.” Adding, “Also, the first time she made me her pasta sauce. It’s something else!”
The love birds are looking to celebrate with a small engagement party at their favorite Lebanese restaurant, Garage Beirut, in Montreal. A portion of the bill will also be donated to Red Cross Lebanon to help those struggling in Beirut as a result of last week’s explosion.
“Younger Vanessa would have wanted a typical Italian wedding, Big and lots of guests”
The COVID-19 pandemic means wedding planning remains up-in-the-air. Nevertheless, Grimaldi dreams of a quieter affair anyway. “Younger Vanessa would have wanted a typical Italian wedding. Big and lots of guests,” she says. “Now, I envision something small, simple and intimate with my closest friends and family.
When asked if she wanted her wedding to be filmed for TV, she replied.”I love having memories we can look back on. I most definitely want a private and intimate wedding and for parts of it to be recorded for us to keep as a memory and for our future children to see one day.”
“Well thank god I followed you back a week ago to hear this news”
In 2017, Grimaldi, a special education teacher, became a reality TV star when she accepted Nick Viall’s final rose on The Bachelor. They also went on to get engaged on the finale. However, the former couple parted ways only five months later. ‘We just realized we were different people fighting to keep a relationship. When ultimately we just weren’t the best fit for each other,’ Vanessa revealed at the time. They seemed to have parted ways amicably, as Nick has nothing but well wishes for his ex and her new fiance.
“Well thank god I followed you back a week ago to hear this news,” Viall commented on Grimaldi’s Instagram post. “Congrats to you two! Lucky guy. ❤️????”
Viall and Grimaldi reportedly followed each other recently. This comes after Nick announced earlier this month that she would be making an appearance on a new segment on his Patreon, “A Bachelor And His Exes Tell All.”
He announced the news alongside an extremely juicy trailer that featured other Bachelor Nation exes. Including, Corinne Olympios and Rachel Lindsay. Grimaldi’s episode is yet to air. But in the sneak preview she did reveal that she doesn’t know how to say Viall’s last name. Which is hilarious considering the former couple were engaged.
