The Season 2 Trailer for The Morning Show Explains What Happened After Season 1’s Cliffhanger

The Morning Show, an Apple TV+ series starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, has released a trailer for season 2, which will attempt to resolve the massive cliffhanger that occurred at the conclusion of the first payment of the Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon-led Apple TV+ series. The first season ended with Aniston (Alex Levy) and Witherspoon (Bradley Jackson) trying to kill UBA president Fred Micklen (Tom Irwin) and others who were defending Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell) amid sexual misconduct charges.

The show is based on the real-life problems that afflicted The Today Show when host Matt Lauer was sacked for sexual misconduct, as well as Brian Stelter’s 2013 book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV. The Apple TV+ series focused on the behind-the-scenes manipulation to remove female journalists from desired television roles, which was mostly carried out by male executives.

Season 2 Teaser

Witherspoon and Aniston’s woman power contributed to make the flagship first drama series from Apple TV+ a must-see before its 2019 premiere. The show’s second season will focus on racism, sexism, and homophobia. In an interview, Witherspoon said that the meaning of leadership in the workplace has changed dramatically.

Those dynamics, as well as the society that maintains those historically difficult-to-navigate challenges, will be explored in depth during the show’s second season.

The Morning Show’s second season will test whether the show can maintain the momentum set by its highly anticipated premiere and maintain its status as must-watch television for Netflix subscribers. It’s tough to take seriously a show where the characters are so ridiculous, and every line is punctuated with a large dramatic point. Is it a Shakespearean tragedy or the most dramatic summer camp? Perhaps it’s a little of both, if the trailer is any indication of what viewers might expect.
