After weeks of speculation amongst fans, Selena officially confirms that she is collaborating with Blackpink.
The singer took to Instagram to announce her highly-anticipated collaboration with Blackpink. Fans have been speculating that Selena will possibly be collaborating with Blackpink. This comes after YG Entertainment announced a secret collaboration.
Selena wrote that she is very excited to announce Blackpink and her have a new song coming out on August 28. She also gives a link to pre-save it along with a sparkling poster of the new single release. The upcoming song will come after Blackpink’s record-breaking song ‘How You Like That’. As for Selena, it follows her Rare album which also broke a lot of records.
Ever since the announcement, Selena has been trending worldwide on Twitter as ‘Selpink in your area’. Blackpink’s latest track has earned more than 400 million views on Youtube. They became the very first K-pop group to have a music video reach a billion views with their song, “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.”
Selena has been giving us back-to-back exciting announcements as promised. She told fans in an Instagram post explaining her absence from social media. The singer, however, assured she has a lot of exciting things that she cannot wait to share.
She explained why she hasn’t been posting much lately. Selena said with everything that is going on, she felt it will be insensitive to post things that might be joyful. The actress said it was hard for her to do that. She assured her fans that she has been taking time to learn about everything that is going on. However, the singer says she continues to make it her priority.
Selena said she wants to let her fans know that she will be more involved and send love. She also promised to show some of her personal stuff that she has been doing. The actress thanks her fans for their support throughout all this time. ‘But, thank you for being here, and thank you for supporting me always and I will talk to you soon,’ Gomez concluded.
Selena Has Exciting Announcements Lined Up
Selena has been giving us a few exciting announcements as promised. She announced a date for the launch of her beauty line and also released the trailer for her show with HBO Max, Selena and Chef. The singer has also been an executive producer for Netflix’s controversial show, 13 Reasons Why and docuseries Living Undocumented.
Selena is returning to the screens with Selena and Chef which will be a cooking series. She will be joined by chefs around the world who teach her how to cook their tasty creations. Because of the global pandemic, the singer will be taught virtually while her friends and family taste-test it at the end.
Selena showcases her goofy side as the chef says he is cooking on an electric stove. The singer says she has it too, soon realizing that her stove isn’t electric. Embarrassed, she slides down and waves her hand over the counter apologizing.
Recently, Selena announced that she and David Henrie have teamed up on Henrie’s directorial debut, This is The Year. They invited fans to watch the film’s virtual premiere with them.
In a video posted about the purpose of why we saw Selena and David teasing a reunion, the duo announced the virtual premiere. Selena said that most premieres have only select number of people except this one which would include everybody. The duo said they wanted all of us to watch the movie with them.
The digital premiere will be held on Aug. 28 at 4:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. ET. The event is hosted by TikTok stars, Charlie and Dixie D’Amelio. Not only that but it will also have a live Q&A session with both Selena, David, the cast, and a performance by Lovelytheband.
We cannot wait for all of the announcements to launch. Especially her collaboration with Blackpink have been doing the rounds for quite some time.
