Reese Witherspoon Sends Fans Into A Frenzy With Paul Rudd Throwback Selfie

Reese Witherspoon sent fans into a frenzy after posting a throwback picture of herself along with another handsome celebrity. She shared a picture from 1996 with none other than Paul Rudd on Instagram.

The actress seemed to have barely aged since then which sent fans into utter disbelief and shock. While the internet was obsessed with Paul not aging a single day since then.

She captioned the picture and wrote, “Wait a second… did Paul Rudd and I take the ‘Selfie’ in 1996”. Reese was donning a bright cherry lipstick with blue eyeshadow. She was 20-year-old at the time as she subtlely smiled at the camera.

Paul was about 27 years old at the time of the picture as he showcased his toothy smile. Instagram user Jordanjoi wrote: “Paull Rudd seriously doesn’t age! How does he look the same as he did in 1996??” Popular blogger Sarah Landry of @TheBirdsPapaya wrote: “This is confirmation that Paul Rudd indeed has a time machine.”

Meanwhile, Lena Waithe wrote that Reese was always ahead of her time. Selma Blair joked: “I’m in love with this relic fit for the Smithsonian.” Paul and Reese both worked together back in 1998 on the romantic comedy Overnight Delivery.

The duo reunited in 2010 to star in How Do You Know, which also featured Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson. 

Reese recently skipped 2020 to celebrate 2021 while watching the Emmys along with her cast for her show, Little Fires Everywhere. She had previously opened up about not really understanding homosexuality back in the day.

Reese admitted to not knowing about homosexuality. She wasn’t taught anything about it while she was growing up. But she understood things when she moved to Los Angeles. In an interview with Regina King, as a part of Variety’s Actors in actors issue, she made the revelation. Regina King and Reese worked together for Legally Blonde 2.

Reese was born in 1976 in Lousiana. The mother of three was however raised in Nashville. She moved to LA during the initial stages of her career. When they were discussing Reese’s new show ‘Little Fires Everywhere‘, she revealed that she did not understand what homosexuality was. Reese was giving an interview from her home in California.

“No one spoke to me about sexuality when I was a teenager,” she said. Further revealing Reese said that her grandparents or parents never explained it to her. She continued saying she learned it from someone she was auditioning with.

Reese discusses her character, Elena, who talks about homosexuality in the show. She said that she took snippets of the conversation she once had about the topic into the scene. Elena is a character who is a matriarch of the perfect Richardson family.

Reese recalled one of her conversations with her grandmother, where she described it as ‘very rare’. Her grandmother also described it as not something that would happen very often in the nineties.

Reese further reveals that the conversations she had with her grandmother were added to the show. “She said, ‘Homosexuality is very rare, Reese. That’s not a thing that happens very often.’ And we put it in the script,” the actress said. 

Regina points out that her character Elena says this on the show. Reese replies saying it is because she was told the same thing once upon a time. Reese describes Little Fires Everywhere as a ‘great experience’. She further states to be able to look back in time and think that she herself was a teenager.

The show helps Reese understand what her mom said about sexuality, race, and class. It also helps her to reflect on what was told to her that was true or false. Reese adds that it helped her think about how insensitive she was back at the time.
