RCB : Three New Players brought in for IPL 2021

RCB has roped in three new players for the remainder of the IPL 2021 edition. The Sri Lankan players Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera will join the team with the Red Jersey while other players from New Zealand and Australia namely Finn Allen and Scott Kuggeleijn & Kane Richardson, Daniel Sams and Adam Zampa will sadly won’t be available. The third new player is Australia’s Singapore-born Tim David.

Wanindu Hasaranga is a Right Hand Bat and Legbreak bowler and will serve RCB as an all-rounder in place of Adam Zampa while Dushmantha Chameera will fulfill the place of a Right Arm Fast bowler.Dushmantha had been previously playing in the squad of Rajasthan Royals.Wanindu also has some fascinating records to his name with top two being:1)Most runs in an innings in ODIs(by batting position-9th). 2)Third position at the most wickets taken by LBW in T20 Internationals. Both the players have produced stunning performances recently which lead to their selection in the Mega Franchise of RCB.

Tim David is 6ft 5in Allrounder from Australia and he has played for various teams including Singapore and the Big Bash League teams such as Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes.Tim’s selection in RCB comes shortly after his match winning hundred which took Surrey into finals of the tournament.Tim has produced a series of excellent performances in the past few weeks which has garnered attention of the media and certainly the campaign of RCB.Tim also holds the record for hanging on to most catches in an innings of T20 with four(4) being the joint record.

All eyes will be set on these three new overseas players as to how they perform on the field when given a chance since making it to the coveted team of RCB is a dream of many young cricketers.Given their recent form and fabulous performances, one can bet that they might even make it a dream debut.Though these players lack in experience, the campaign of RCB will surely give them exposure and they might turn this opportunity into a golden performance.

RCB also have one more spot to fill in of the overseas contingent.Currently, they have seven foreign players in their kitty and they will be looking to fill in that one empty spot in the coming days.

Another Big News from the RCB Campaign is Simon Katich, the former Australian opener and Head Coach of RCB, stepping down from the position of head coach citing “personal reasons”.Rajesh Menon, vice president and team head of RCB,while announcing this news referred to it as a “small change”.In the absence of Simon Katich,Mike Hesson will perform the duties and role of head coach until the end of the tournament.Mike Hesson already has the role of Director of Cricket Operations of Bangalore to play and hopefully with this new role too being pushed onto him,he is able to perform his duties well and lead RCB to the prestigious IPL trophy that has evaded them for years.
