Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have officially announced that they will be embarking on their first UK tour as duo performers in the autumn of 2021.

The Musical Duo

While Carnage is not a complete record of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, it is the latest project in nearly 25 years of collaboration between the two.

Ellis has been a member of the Bad Seeds since 1997. He has been a songwriting partner for many years with Nick. They also work togeher on various things apart from solo music i.e – side-project Grinderman and many film, TV and theatre scores and soundtracks.

Tour Dates

During the Autumn 2021 tour scheduled in United Kingdom, both Cave and Ellis are expected to be joined on stage by singer Johnny Hostile and supporting artists Wendi Rose, T Jae Cole and Janet Ramus.

You can check out the full tour dates below, including two nights at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The tickets will be on sale from this Friday (July 23) at 10am BST.

Carnage Album

The musical duo recorded ‘Carnage’ during the COVID lockdowns and Cave described the record as “a brutal but very beautiful record embedded in a communal catastrophe”.

Cave said his inspiration came from “reading, forcibly writing and just sitting on my balcony pondering upon things”. Aside from the original purpose of making the album, he said “the record came out of the sky. It was a gift ”.

NME’s review about Carnage is as follows: “Carnage’ is arguably Cave and Ellis’ best record since The Bad Seeds’ latter-day reinvention on 2013’s ‘Push The Sky Away’, or maybe even ‘Abattoir Blues’. It’s certainly two master craftsmen at the peak of their melodramatic powers.”
