“I love the way that Sansa’s journey ended,” she said. “I think it was kind of the one thing that she wanted throughout the whole show…to be home and to be where she felt most safe and comfortable and that’s Winterfell. She’s totally capable of leading those people.”

He told Variety that it was a sort of combination of them imagining an ending and for them to not want the series to end. The actor said, ‘You lived with this for eight seasons. There is still a massive community dedicated to Game of Thrones. I think there was a real fear that was going to go away. It had to end.’

He was asked if he had any opinions about the way his character’s journey ended. Nikolaj said it was fine and said he should be asked this in ten years, then he can talk about it. He said, “How do you end that story? Let’s talk about this in 10 years, then you can talk about it. But now, I think it’s a little too recent.”
