Kiss The Radio Gets TXT, Stray Kids As Hosts While YoungK Goes For Military Service

Fans have something to get excited about as the panel of hosts for radio shows are mostly idols. It has been a K-Pop tradition. Day 6’s Young K had started exploring his opportunity of being a full-time radio host in the year 2020.

This came after he hosted the popular MBC show, Idol Radio as he teamed up with GOT7’s Youngjae. The Day 6 idol had hosted the radio show from May to September 2020. It is currently being hosted by Monsta X members Jooheon and Hyungwon. But since November 2020, Young K has moved over to host another show under the KBS network.

He made a mark with his voice and became the host of KBS’ late-night radio show, Kiss the Radio. The idol had announced on August 17 that he was ready to enlist as part of his mandatory military service. He had a thoughtful farewell gift for his fans as he released his first solo mini-album, Eternal. The idol had a song called Guard You which was a message to his fans that he is ready to keep them safe with his music while he is away.

Young K will have to end all his solo activities outside of the group. On October 5, it was announced that the idol will be hosting his last episode of Kiss the Radio on October 10. The show has been loved immensely and young listeners have ranked it as first in the overall audience rating from teenagers.

The radio show mainly focuses on K-Pop and has had hosts who are singers from popular idol groups. Young K passed his platform to young idols from fourth-generation K-Pop groups to entertain his listeners. It was then announced that the show will be hosted for the three remaining weeks by Stray Kids’ Seungmin.

He will be hosting the show from October 11 to 15 and Kino from Pentagon will follow his lead. Following these three idols, TXT’s Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai will take turns hosting ‘Kiss the Radio’ from October 25 to 31. The show is available for Korean residents as it airs on KBS Cool FM every day at 10 pm KST (9 am ET).
