The singer had to cancel her wedding plans and also postpone the release of her album because of the ongoing pandemic. She acknowledges that and says everyday the options change and she doesn’t know what is going to happen. Katy says especially being pregnant in a pandemic is an emotional rollercoaster for her.

The singer says she is grateful for the dark times in her life which has taught her how to deal with difficulties. She said she has a great partner, a sound mind, and she is working which gives her stability. The pop star found relief last year from her longtime depression. With the help of medication, therapy, and support from her loved ones, she overcame that time of her life.

Katy assures that her new album is all about hopefulness, resilience, joy, and love. Reflecting on her journey from Witness to Smile, she said, “After being on a rocket ship. And just going straight up, it was just a small change in the trajectory, but it felt seismic.” The singer added that it took her two-and-a-half years to find her footing. She said it was easy for her to just work but she had to go on a mental and spiritual journey.

Katy said she felt like she was having a nightmare like she was being attacked at her lowest moments. However, she took little steps and turned to therapy. The singer had been in therapy since she was 25. She recalls the most recent encounter with depression was more difficult than anything she had previously experienced.

She said she got clinically very depressed in an interview with Sunday Times. Katy revealed she was on some medication that her psychologist told her to take. She explains that the medication changes the chemistry of the mind. The singer further added that some people need pharmaceutical crutches.

Katy says you are never going to change someone no matter how much you want to change them. She recalled that she had to make a decision of changing herself after going through a rough phase. The singer said she had no choice but to go on an emotional, spiritual, psychological journey. She says without that she would not have survived to see 2018. Katy also said that the medication was really intense.

However, Katy is no longer taking medication because she found an alternative treatment. She has become a fan of meditation and the Hoffman Process. It is billed as an effective treatment for depression, anger, and anxiety and releasing negative emotions by using Freudian analysis.

Katy explains on People, “How could I have felt that so powerfully to the point where my body was seizing? We all have negative conversations going on in your head that can take the wheel. You have to take the wheel back, and I definitely did.”

However, she said this made her realize that her priorities need to change. Katy explains that it got her out of the desperate loop of being the best pop star ever. She says she only ever wanted to be a human being and have the dimension of life. The singer is looking forward to a life full of happiness, family, love, and coziness.

Katy adds, “I get to live life, and I get to bring life into the world. Finding gratitude in this pain has been a real journey, but the outcome is worth it.”

Katy and Orlando are expecting a baby girl sometime soon. The couple has expressed their happiness and excitement previously. They have also chosen Jennifer Aniston to be their baby’s godmother.

We wish Katy a lifetime of happiness and expect to see her and her baby happy and healthy really soon.
