Recalling Zainab Ansari’s Brutal Murder
At the protest, demonstrators were seen urging people to demand justice for the victim. They also reminded bystanders of how the nation had come together for Zainab Ansari. Zainab’s inhumane murder touched a nerve and ignited widespread protests as well as outrage in the country. People began raising questions over the safety and security of children while also questioning the responsibilities of concerned authorities in charge of preventing rising incidents of child abuse in Pakistan.
Earlier this year, the Senate approved the Zainab Alert, Response and Recovery Bill, 2019, paving the way for the child protection legislation to become a law meant to ensure the protection of minors.
