The second wave of the Coronavirus Pandemic has hit India more than other countries. Thousands of people are becoming victims as they contract the virus every day.

Thankfully, few celebrities and influencers have lend their helping hand to India to solve the many problems they are facing this time. They are doing their bit by donating and raising funds for COVID-19 relief. Celebrities are also compiling resources where they and their fans can help India.

And joining the list of celebrities is Hrithik Roshan, who has come together with American and Hollywood stars to raise funds. The actor has reportedly helped raised an estimated USD 3.68 million. He has contributed USD 15,000 himself for the fundraiser. The fundraiser also includes stars like Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Will Smith, Jamie Kern Lima and others.

Jay Shetty, who has led the fundraiser revealed the stars’ contribution including Hrithik. The influencer thanked everyone who participated in this cause to help raise funds as he posted a photo on Instagram. He wrote, “My heart is filled with joy knowing that lives will be helped and saved. This is just the beginning! We have a lot of work to do.”

Hrithik also reacted to the amount that was collected as he congratulated both Jay and his wife Radhika. Meanwhile, actors like Bhumi Pednekar, Taapsee Pannu, Sonu Sood, and others are also amplifying requests and helping arrange for medical facilities.

“We are devastated by the news of the rising tragedies in India.”

Celebrities pledged their support to the very special and important fundraiser for COVID-19 relief for India.  Jay Shetty, Lilly Singh, Deepak Chopra, Jay Sean, and more joined together on Saturday 1st May for a two-hour virtual fundraiser for GiveIndia in support of India’s catastrophic COVID crisis. The podcast host has put together this fundraiser called Help India Breathe which went live on Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram on Saturday.

All proceeds will go to GiveIndia. The non-profit organization launched India COVID Response Fund-1 in April 2020. With the second deadly wave currently hitting India, the organization launched ICRF-2 to support gaps in healthcare and other critical needs. Alongside Shetty and Indiaspora, the event brought together powerful voices across the US-based South Asian community including Lilly Singh; Deepak Chopra, Dhar Mann, Payal Kadakia, Kunal Nayyar, Humble the Poet; Jay Sean, Radhanath Swami, Janina Gavankar, Vishen Lakhiani, Deepica Mutyala, and more.

Jay Shetty says: “We are devastated by the news of the rising tragedies in India. They urgently need our help, and we are so grateful to our friends; communities, and audiences that will participate in making a difference this weekend. We know you’ll show up.”
