Popular actress of Grey’s Anatomy, Ellen Pompeo revealed a rather shocking altercation with Denzel Washington on the sets of the medical drama. In the latest episode of the Tell Me With Ellen Pompeo podcast, the actress was talking to her co-star Patrick Dempsey.
She recalled a past argument she had with the actor while filming Grey’s Anatomy’s 12th season. Denzel was directing an episode called The Sound of Silence. Ellen tried to improvise some of her lines and also gave directions to actors. This did not go down well with the director as he said, “I’m the director. Don’t you tell him what to do.”
The actress had responded furiously as she said, “Listen, motherf**ker, this is my show. This is my set. Who are you telling?” She cleared the air over how the two of them got over the incident. Ellen gushed that she has “utmost respect for him as an actor and director”.
The actress continued, “(He is) Passionate and fiery and that’s where you get the magic, and that’s where you get the good stuff. So, we didn’t get through it without a fight, but that’s actors for you.” She further added, “it was an amazing experience, it really was.”
Ellen Pompeo Called “INSANE”
But her candid confession did not go down well with Denzel’s fans who felt that she disrespected the actor. A user tweeted that Ellen really disrespected Denzel and “proudly” told the world like they were going to be on her side. Another user wrote, “So you mean to tell me Ellen Pompeo, known for GREYS ANATOMY, called 2 time academy award winner Denzel Washington a mf? I need the audio cuz I’m calling bs. And if she did, shame on her. He shouldn’t have said what he said but “listen mf this is my show?” Nah. That ain’t it.”
Another user wrote it was a good episode and it hit differently than the other episodes. The fan continued that they noticed it and looked up wondering if she is bragging about this. They added if she thinks what she did or said was a good thing. “Ellen Pompeo is INSANE,” another user said.
