Choreographer Janette Manrara Set To Become The New Host Of ‘It Takes Two’

Jeanette Manrara will retire as a professional dancer from Strictly Come Dancing in order to replace Zoe Ball and host the spin-off segment, It Takes Two.

The American dancer and choreographer is set to be co-presenting the show that will be taking the audience behind the scenes of the famous dance competition with Rylan Clark-Neal.

‘I Will Not Be Dancing’

Manrara told BBC One’s The One Show the “hardest part of accepting this amazing honour” was “I will not be dancing”.

“I don’t want to well up because I have been welling up a lot today,” she said.

“It’s a recognition of the fact that I am no longergoing to be around again on the dance stage dancing, and that’s the stuff of legends the dance floor. However I feel that this is the best and most natural change of my life.”

Zoe Ball Leaves

Ball, who was a finalist in the third series of Strictly, announced her departure earlier this month, having fronted the BBC Two weekday evening show for 10 years. She also recently appeared as Llama in ITV’s The Masked Dancer.

She presented the show, which is broadcast every weekday evening during Strictly’s existence, since 2011.

Dance lovers, after 10 joyous years I am waltzing away from It Takes Two,” Ball wrote on Instagram.

Zoe said “it’s time for new challenges” and thanked “the whole Strictly family … I will miss you very much.”

Ball has continued to present the show in partnership after she started hosting the morning show BBC Radio 2.

Farewell Message Of Zoe Ball

“As a massive @BBCStrictly fan I have loved spending my Autumn teatimes with the celebrity dancers, the gorgeous & awesome pro dancers, the judges, my girl Vicky Gill, Rylan, Gethin & of course my main man Ian Waite,” Ball said.

“Time now for some new cha cha challenges. I will continue to support the Strictly family on the Breakfast Show & can’t wait to watch the Class Of 2021 from my sofa. Huge love & grateful thanks to Tess [Daly] & Claudia [Winkleman] & the whole Strictly clan, the It Takes Two fans, my Glam Squad, Eve Winstanley, Alex McLeod, the BBC2 gang, & of course the best telly crew ever.
