Amy Winehouse’s Dad Wants Her To Be Remembered For “Talent” Ahead Of 10th Death Anniversary

Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch has looked upon the upcoming 10th anniversary of the singer’s death.

The iconic singer had died at the age of 27 at her Camden home due to alcohol poisoning. Her dad told The Sun before the decade anniversary that he wants Amy’s legacy to be her enduring talent. He added that her publicized battles with addiction should not be the highlight.

Mitch shared that he constantly tries to make people remember Amy for her talent, generosity and the love she showed everyone. The late singer’s family had set up the Amy Winehouse Foundation after her death. Her place is an East London shelter designed to support up to 16 women in managing their recovery after rehab.

Mitch was asked what his role in the singer’s ongoing financial affairs is. He responded by saying that Amy’s mother, Janis and him manage her estate. The singer’s dad added that her music still makes a lot of money and what she did has set them all up. He said, “The thing is, though, and I can’t say this clearly enough, I would give back every penny just to have my daughter back.”

Mitch further expressed that ten years after her death, she still looks after her loved ones. He said, “Ten years after her death, she is still looking after her loved ones — her family and many of her friends have been supported by her — and that’s typical of her. She was generous in life and in many ways she still is now.”

Amy’s mother, on the other hand, recently defended her controversial marriage with her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. She claimed that love was at the heart of their relationship.
