Willow Smith Unfollowed Billie Eilish As She Pulled Out Of ‘Happier Than Ever, The World Tour’

Willow Smith, the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, has withdrawn from Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever, the World Tour” on February 8. Willow was originally scheduled to open for Billie on 11 dates of the North American portion of the tour, which kicks off on February 9 at the Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C.

Willow announced on Twitter that she will not be attending Billie’s tour’s opening night. “Due to production limitations,” she tweeted, “I am unable to put on the show that I believe you all deserve.”

“Stay safe, I love you all, and I will see you soon!” she said. Willow unfollowed the Grammy-winning musician on Instagram shortly after the announcement.

Fans on Twitter were taken aback when they learned of their beloved artist’s abrupt announcement. As one admirer put it, “PRODUCTION LIMITATIONS? WILLOW PLEASE LIKE I JUST WANNA HEAR U LIVE IM CRYING.” Another fan asked, “So you won’t be in DC tomorrow ?!” A third fan said, “im missing 2 days of school just for u to back out a day before.” “PLS DONT LET THIS MEAN YOURE NOT PERFORMING, I DONT CARE ABOUT THE PRODUCTION VALUE I JUST WANT TO SEE YOU LIVE,” wrote another fan.

However, not everyone was happy with Willow’s quick decision to leave, as one Twitter user put it: “And to cancel with less than 24 hours before the show?! What’s another word for “entitled rich kid?” Another called her out, saying, “So unprofessional to cancel less than 24 hours until the show.. I knew there was a reason I didn’t like you.”

“She’s literally saying she can’t perform to her highest degree for her fans,” wrote another. Someone else commented, “You’re an opening act. You get a mic and sound system. Wtf else you want.”

While Willow’s absence may disappoint fans, the opening act will still feature Tkay Maidza, Duckwrth, Jessie Reyez, Jungle, Arlo Parks, and Girl in Red. It’s yet unknown whether Willow will be replaced by a new performer.

Willow recently announced the release of her debut novel, ‘Black Shield Maiden,’ on Instagram. She penned, “I am so grateful to announce that my debut novel…#theblackshieldmaiden is going to be dropping on !! I’ve been working on this historical fiction for over 4 years & I couldn’t be more excited to see what aspects of the story will incite more catharsis for you all.”
