Ryan Reynolds jokes about wanting to play James Bond

Following in the footsteps of Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds has expressed his ambition to play James Bond, the 007 agents. The Red Notice star told The New York Times via Comic Book that if the franchise’s creators are interested in having him, he would like to play the character.

For the uninformed, it was recently rumored that the producers are looking for a new James Bond after Daniel Craig’s departure after No Time To Die. Many Hollywood actors have been rumored to be in the running for the position since then. Reynolds, on the other hand, appears to have finally admitted to wanting to play James Bond. According to Comic Book, “I hear they’re looking for a new Bond.”

When asked how he planned to pursue the part, Reynolds reverted to his Canadian roots and prepared a humorous response. “Would you mind if a Canadian sipped gin and tonic instead of a martini? If that’s the case, I’m interested “he stated

Many fans on Twitter have stated their desire to see Reynolds as the renowned secret agent since the job of James Bond was up for grabs.

Dwayne Johnson had already expressed his intention to play the character and disclosed his connection to the franchise. “Yes, my grandfather played a Bond villain in Sean Connery’s You Only Live Twice,” The Rock told Esquire. He went on to say that he’d like to follow in his footsteps, but not as a villain because he wants to play James Bond after Daniel Craig retires from the role.
