Chansung Retiring? 2PM Star Announces Marriage & Fiance’s Pregnancy

As our favourite K-pop stars grow older, they are sure to start having their own families. Bobby from iKON, Chen from EXO, and Taeyang from BIGBANG have all announced marriage; and children in the recent few months.

While dating during the peak of a celebrity’s career might be a touchy subject due to adoring fans; everyone gets together to congratulate K-pop stars who are moving on to the next stage of their lives. And it’s none other than Chansung from 2PM who has just announced his marriage and pregnancy.

To inform fans of the news, the 2PM star drafted a handwritten letter and uploaded it on Instagram on December 15. Chansung revealed that he had been in a long-term relationship. Since he was discharged from the service, he had been preparing for a new life and marriage. He shared, “The blessing of a new life came to us earlier than expected, and we are planning to get married as early as the beginning of next year.”

However, the second half of his message perplexed some followers, who wondered if he was going to retire. Chansung also stated that his contract with JYPE would expire in January 2022. For the past 15 years, the 2PM star has been with the company. He has decided to leave JYPE after much deliberation.

I went through much discussion with the company regarding my thought to go down my own path along with the addition of my new family that I will continue life with…” Chansung wrote. He added, “The decision was made through communication with my future as the priority, and the company willingly wished for my bright future.” The idol further wrote that he will work hard as he is currently doing in the near future in order to impress as the youngest member of the band.

He does not appear to be departing at 2 p.m. Hwang Chansung is a JYPE idol and an actor. Following the release of his reunion album with 2PM, he is currently starring in the K-drama ‘Show Window: The Queen’s House.’ It’s also worth noting that another 2PM member, Taecyeon, is not a JYPE member. Regardless of whether Chansung quits from the profession in the future or not, his admirers wish him the best.

One fan shared, “I already knew this time will come but still i’m getting emo, 2pm are my 1st bg ult…but i’m so happy for Chansungie….now who’s next.? JunK, Taecyeon , Nickhun, Wooyoung, Junho.?” Another joked that the idol babies announced in 2021 could get together in the future,
