Return of Tom Hardy

Peaky Blinders is a British television series set in Birmingham, England, after World War I and follows the adventures of the renowned Shelby family, led by the ruthless Tommy Shelby. The series is partially based on the same-named real-life urban street gang that operated in the city from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.

Peaky Blinders premiered in 2013 and has received critical acclaim throughout its duration. Following the conclusion of Season 5 in 2019, the series was renewed for a sixth season as well as a feature-length film to wrap up the plot.

The BBC has now published a new official teaser for Peaky Blinders’ upcoming sixth and final season. The trailer, which is accompanied by a haunting version of Anna Calvi’s “Hunter” playing in the background, features some of the show’s signature stunning cinematography and mood. The preview has a lot of gunfire and plays out like a ticking time bomb, with the intensity increasing towards the end, implying an explosive and furious race for the Shelby family to the finish line. Returning performers Anya-Taylor Joy and Tom Hardy, who were recently confirmed to return as Alfie Solomons, were also shown.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic, production on Season 6 was delayed for several months, with filming only beginning in January 2021. Furthermore, Helen McRory’s untimely death in April after a secret fight with cancer contributed to the mystery surrounding her character’s fate.

Aunt Polly’s fans, on the other hand, will be hopeful they haven’t seen the last of her. With little information in the teaser on that front, it’s possible that when Peaky Blinders season 6 arrives this Spring, viewers may be treated to McRory’s final appearance as the fan-favorite character.
