In the teaser, Aside from cricket, no additional characters were revealed. This cricket was only a minor character in the original story by Italian writer Carlo Collodi, who was selected to serve as Pinocchio’s conscience after he was killed by Pinocchio and returned as a ghost.

Disney created their own version of this figure, turning him into Jiminy Cricket. Not only did he get a name, but he also made appearances in other Disney films like Fun and Fancy-Free and Mickey’s Christmas Carol. The teaser introduced the guy as Sebastian J. Cricket, thus Guillermo’s version of the story is expected to turn the story on its head. Fans are excited to see how he interpret the traditional story of the wooden child.
