The Green Lantern’s Daughter Jade is revealed in the Stargirl Season 2 trailer

Another JSA legacy figure, Green Lantern’s daughter Jade, is introduced in the new Stargirl season 2 teaser. Stargirl a.k.a Courtney Whitmore, based on the DC comic heroine created by Geoff Johns, has a special place in Johns’ heart because he fashioned the character after his late sister Courtney, who passed away in an air crash in 1996. The series adaption, which was also written and executive produced by Johns, was announced in 2018 by the now-defunct DC Universe streaming service.

Courtney Whitmore, a high school student, discovers the Cosmic Staff originally used by the hero Starman and takes on the character of Stargirl, eventually attempting to recreate the Justice Society of America with a new generation of superheroes.

Stargirl season 1 mentioned various iconic DC heroes, including Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern, harkening back to DC comics’ original golden age from the 1940s. While DC fans are better familiar with the later cosmic forms of the Green Light, beginning with Hal Jordan, Scott’s powers were magical, not foreign, and came from a ring that he could recharge with a green lantern.
