Yes, we’re talking about the one-and-only Friends reunion, which finally aired on Wednesday, May 27—more than a year after HBO Max announced the reunion and 17 years after the group said their final lines in the 2004 finale.
Despite the fact that it took longer than planned, it appears that the wait was worth. Would fans have ever known Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer had a real-life love on one other? Or the fact that Matt LeBlanc smashed his face into a toilet the night before his audition and arrived with a bloody nose? What about Justin Bieber in a Spudnick outfit a la Ross? Or how about Lady Gaga’s “Smelly Cat” cover? Oh, and Marcel the monkey? Do you recall him? Schwimmer, on the other hand, wasn’t a big fan.
Needless to say, the nearly two-hour event was mess with content, and viewers seemed to enjoy every minute of it. “I love my buddies,” Aniston captioned a photo on Instagram.
