Taylor Swift and her mother Andrea have recently donated $50,000 to support a woman by the name of Vicki Quarles who lost her husband to COVID-19 last year.
The singer submitted the joint donation to a GoFundMe page which was launched on December 22 by the woman’s friend. It was a goal of raising $50,000 and as of Tuesday, the GoFUndMe page has raised $61,268 after Taylor’s donation.
Vicki’s friend, DeQuanda recalled the day in December when the paramedics arrived at her friend’s house in the description. She revealed that day Theodis, Vicki’s husband was shifted to the hospital for breathing difficulties.
“Vicki wasn’t allowed to accompany her husband due to quarantine restrictions. Little did she know that this would be her final engagement with her [husband and] best friend,” she revealed. DeQuanda further added that she later received a call from the hospital that Theodis had given away to the virus.
She then referenced to the five daughters of Vicki: “Theodis’ transition will forever leave a void on the Quarles team. Alyssa, Anaya, Asia, Allie, and Aryah will miss him at breakfast, at their class plays, proms, recitals, graduations, college entries … and ultimately their weddings.” DeQuanda then explained her decision to launch a GoFundMe page initiative in support of Vicki and her girls.
It was for the girls and to offer financial relief and reduce the family of its burden from things associated with basic immediate needs. It is also for their continued growth, goals, and aspirations. She wrote, “I am confident that their father, Theodis Ray Quarles, will be smiling from heaven when his little teacher, doctor, CEO, nurse or entrepreneur makes her mark in the world.”
Taylor Created History At Grammys
DeQuanda further concluded, “As the Lord leads Vicki to shepherd them to their destinies, your donation is most appreciated in championing this family to the finish line.” Taylor’s generous donation came after her historic win at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. She became the first female artist to win Album of the Year three times in her career.
The Folklore singer had described the night as ‘marvelous’ while sharing behind-the-scenes snaps from the award ceremony to her social media. In one photo, Swift, donning a stunning floral mini dress, proudly showed off the envelope that unveiled Folklore as Album Of The Year for the camera.
The singer had also performed in a cabin set as she sang Cardigan, August, and Willow. Taylor previously won Album of the Year back in 2016 for 1989 and for Fearless before that in 2010. Taylor Swift had released the new version of her superhit song, Love Story. After releasing two new albums last year, the singer is not slowing down. She released a re-recorded version of her 2008 single, Love Story.
The singer re-released as Love Story (Taylor’s Version). The song was released back in 2008. She will continue to bring in more surprises as she announced she will be re-releasing all her tracks from before. The lyric video of the new version of Love Story has clips and photographs from the Fearless Era.
At the end of the video, Taylor gives her signature hand heart with a message on the screen that reads, “”With love to all my fans.” The singer had announced on Good Morning America that she completed her first re-recording of her second album, Fearless. She announced that the re-recording will include the original tracklist. However, it will also include six never-before-heard songs.
