Taylor Swift Addresses ‘Woodvale’ Theory & Joe Alwyn’s Pseudonym

Taylor Swift made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as she addressed fan theories, a pseudonym. The singer addressed the rumor of her having a possible third album who will also be a sister to Folklore just like Evermore.

She surprised the music industry as well as all of us by the release of her 9th studio album, Evermore. However, fans are now speculating that there is another complimentary album in the Folklore series itself. Her fans found the word, Woodvale faintly on one of the posters of Folklore’s album art.

So, naturally, as the singer is known for dropping Easter Eggs, fans thought it might be the clue for her next album. Taylor cleared the air as she insisted that it was a mistake and that Woodvale was a code name for Folklore. She has these cod names for her albums for keeping her music project a secret.

The Cardigan singer shared that when she was making the album, Folklore, she was afraid to unveil the name of the album. She shared that she did not reveal it to her teammates and her management either until a little while before it came out.

The singer revealed, “I came up with a fake code name that had the same amount of letters as ‘Folklore,’ chose a random name, chose ‘Woodvale,’ wanted to see how it would look on the album covers, mocked them up, and then decided, ‘I don’t actually wanna have a title on the album covers,’ and we forgot to take the fake code name off of one of them.”

Taylor Confirms Who William Bowery Is

Taylor revealed that she did the same thing with Evermore, although she remembered to remove all the codenames. She shared that the code name for her latest release was November. The host, Jimmy asked her to be sure if Woodvale is not the name of her next album. She insisted its true as she told him that they remembered to take all the code names or mock-ups of the album covers.

She was also asked about the unknown artist, composer, William Bowery. It is said to be the pseudonym for her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. Fans have been speculating it for a while now and have come up with a number of theories as to why the specific name was chosen.

Taylor confirmed it is a pseudonym for Joe as she shared that he chose the name for himself. She also revealed that she has no idea why he chose that name. The Evermore singer told Jimmy that he would have to ask him to know the reason behind him choosing that name.

We can count on Swifties when we need information about Taylor or her albums. With a little bit of research, some fans claimed that Joe will be a part of this album in a unique way.

William Bowery Is Code For Joe Alwyn- The Theory

The claims started from Taylor talking about the team who helped her make the music. “I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; @aarondessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), @boniver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and @jackantonoff (who is basically musical family at this point),” she shared online.

Fans immediately started to speculate that William Bowery is actually Joe Alwyn. He did not have an Instagram account which sort of convinced fans. A fan site was quick to notice that Taylor and Joe had their first met in Hotel Bowery in New York.

Another fan gave us the information from Joe’s Wikipedia page that the actor is the great-grandson of William Alwyn. And again there was another clue which said that William spent much of his life as a composer, conductor, and music teacher.

This can be true since it will not be the first time Taylor has faked a songwriter’s name. She faked the name of her previous boyfriend, Calvin Harris while writing the song ‘This is What You Came For’. The singer used the pseudonym Nils Sjöberg to credit herself. Her then-boyfriend, Calvin confirmed in a tweet saying, “Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual.”

Taylor has already dropped her album Folklore. However, she has also released the music video of one of the songs in the album called, ‘Cardigan’. The singer assured fans that a medical inspector was present while shooting the video and everybody took the necessary precautions. She wrote, “The entire shoot was overseen by a medical inspector, everyone wore masks, stayed away from each other, and I even did my own hair, makeup, and styling.”
