Shang-Razor Chi’s Fist Actor Wants To Fight Wolverine From The MCU
Florian Munteanu, who plays Razor Fist in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, recently spoke about where he’d want to see his character go in a sequel and his desire to battle Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The German-Romanian actor, who came to fame as a heavyweight boxer, made his acting debut in Creed 2, in which he played Ivan Drago’s son.
His character Razor Fist was featured prominently in Shang-Chi earlier this year, making him a part of Hollywood’s largest franchise.
Shang-Razor Chi’s Fist Actor
Munteanu’s Razor Fist was a delightful cartoony addition to Shang-Chi, as the character’s sword arm made him a fun goon to battle for Simu Liu’s character. Razor Fist was instrumental in the phenomenal bus combat action in the film’s opening act, and his subsequent appearances in the film reinforced his reputation as a deadly Wenwu henchman.
Razor Fist is still alive and well at the Ten Rings compound at the end of the film, but now he works for Shang-sister Chi’s Xialing, who took over the organization when her father died.
Munteanu was questioned about what he’d want to see happen with the character in a Shang-Chi sequel in a new interview with CBM. The actor stated that he believes there are many stories to be explored with the character and that he would like to dig deeper into Razor Fist’s emotional side. He also expressed a wish to see the character cross paths with Wolverine and engage the enemy.
Wolverine’s and Razor Fist’s futures in the MCU are unknown at this time. Razor Fist is still working for the Ten Rings under Xialing, as previously stated, so he could feature in a Disney+ show or Shang-Chi 2. Even if the X-Men are brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s unclear whether Wolverine will be featured. Hugh Jackman is linked with the character, therefore the studio will have a difficult time finding a suitable replacement. As a result, before Wolverine is presented, the X-Men may need to be fully established in the MCU.
