Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan passes away at the age of 71

The celebrated Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan passed away on Friday morning at the age of 71 due to a cardiac arrest!

This year has proven to be one of the most terrible ones that we had. After losing gems like Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Wajid Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput, the Bollywood industry has lost another one. The celebrated choreographer Saroj Khan is no more as she passed away on Friday morning at the age of 71 due to a cardiac arrest.

We had earlier informed you all that she was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital of Mumbai last month. The choreographer was facing breathing issues. She was in the hospital since June 17 but had not contracted the coronavirus. However, her son had confirmed that she was recovering.

Unfortunately, she lost the battle with life on July 3rd. He nephew Manish Jagwani confirmed to PTI, “She passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 2:30 am at the hospital.”

She was fondly called ‘Masterji’ by the Bollywood stars. Tributes have already started pouring in for her on social media. Akshay Kumar has tweeted saying, “Woke up to the sad news that legendary choreographer #SarojKhan ji is no more. She made dance look easy almost like anybody can dance, a huge loss for the industry. May her soul rest in peace.”

Talking about Saroj Khan, she was one of the most renowned choreographers in the Hindi film industry. With her career stretching over decades, she had directed over 2,000 songs. Ek Do Teen, Humko Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar, Dhak Dhak, Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai, Nimbooda and Dora Re Dola are some of the songs which she has credits for.  

Her last project was Karan Johar’s film Kalank which released last year. She had choreographed the song Tabaah Ho Gaye which features Madhuri Dixit. Both of them share a strong bond which goes long back.
