Ronda Rousey Has Been Cut From WWE’s Initial Plans With WrestleMania 39

Ronda Rousey, the former “SmackDown” Women’s Champion, has apparently been cut from WWE’s initial plans with WrestleMania 39 less than a week away. Rousey and Shayna Baszler were expected to be in a position to contend for and win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship going into the two-night event, according to long-held beliefs.

The current champions Lita and Becky Lynch had already committed to working with Trish Stratus in a six-woman tag match against Damage Control, but it was said that other scenarios were being considered as well. According to rumours, someone may be working two jobs at once and competing in WrestleMania on both nights. It seems like none of that is taking place.

Rousey sustained an arm injury, making it uncertain whether she will compete at WrestleMania. Her on-screen appearances have decreased over the past few weeks, giving WWE a brief window of time to attempt to develop a plausible narrative leading up to the anticipated title bout. According to the latest news from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has completely scrapped its plans for the championship match and instead suggested a different route for Rousey and Baszler to take to get to WrestleMania.

Rousey and Baszler

The forthcoming women’s WrestleMania Showcase will feature a Fatal Four-Way Tag Match between Rousey and Baszler and other participants from the “Raw” and “SmackDown” women’s divisions. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez are the only pair to have firmly cemented their position thus far.

When they triumphed against Emma and Tegan Nox in a qualifying match on last week’s “SmackDown,” the team punched their ticket. Rumor has it that Rousey and Baszler will be on one of the four teams, enabling Rousey to compete while a lot of other fighters can handle the demands of the fight. At this time, however, nothing about Rousey’s WrestleMania status can be taken for granted.
