Millie Bobby Brown Will Take The Lead Role In Damsel

Millie Bobby Brown is set to star and executive produce a new original movie for Netflix. The actress has been roped in to be a part of Damsel, according to Deadline.

The Stranger Things star will be playing Princess Elodie, who believes she will marry a prince but instead she is being sacrificed to a dragon. The Netflix film will be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. The director has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film back in 1996.

The announcement of Millie being a part of the movie comes after her successful movie, Enola Holmes. Along with her Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham Carter were also a part of the movie. The movie was also produced by the actress and was going to be distributed theatrically.

However, Netflix acquired the rights for the movie. The movie was based on young adult mystery fiction novels written by Nancy Springer. The Netflix movie became the biggest opening day title this year. Millie has also received recognition for her work on Stranger Things. She received two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

The production for the fourth installment of the show has already begun but it was halted because of the ongoing pandemic. However, the production resumed in late September. The actress is also set to be a part of the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong.

The movie was set to premiere this month, however, it was delayed to May 21 of next year. It will be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX.

Millie’s Heartfelt Tribute To Her Nanny

The actress recently shared that she is mourning the loss of her grandmother. She recently lost her grandmother to her battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

The actress took to her social media to announce the death of her grandmother, Ruth. She paid a heartbreaking tribute to the family member and she wrote on her Instagram how she has no words that make sense.

She wrote, “There’s no feeling to pinpoint. Loss is something so complex and I go thru spells where I can’t stop crying and then I laugh about all the memories and then sit quietly and try to comprehend what happened.”

Millie described Alzheimer’s as evil and cruel. She further added it takes away someone’s ability to remember memories and how to function as a human being. The actress said it is hard to sit there and watch.

The Stranger Things alum further wrote she will always be her “millie moos” as a message to her grandmother. She wrote, “I loved you more than anyone could ever love. I’ll tell everyone about you and the lessons u taught me. I’ll thank you every day for the laughs and memories u gave me all throughout my life so far.”

The actress also shared a black-and-white video of herself kissing her grandmother. She also shared how she did not get a chance to say her final goodbyes in person because of the ongoing global pandemic. The Enola Holmes alum wrote, “I couldn’t come home to give u one last snuggle because of Covid-19 so FaceTime was all that we had.”
