The Flash will debut in theatres after a long halt. The debut of Flash on the big screen would mean more surprises incoming. It could change the bigger picture of the DC universe. After the premiere of the finale episode of Superman and Lois has opened up the possibility of Arrowverse which would mean that we may get to witness our favorite DC superheroes in together one single project.
This would also mean that we get to see the old actors from the franchise making a comeback. One of the most notable of these will be the long-overdue on-screen comeback of Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne/Batman. Given that Keaton has already been confirmed to appear in the next Batgirl film, it already seems as though his return to Batman will be major.
Indeed it was a surprise for the DC fandom and made the fans wonder what made Keaton wear the cape of the Batman once again. In a recent interview with Variety, the actor explained his wish to come back
It seemed like fun,” Keaton said. He also said that he was curious about what it would feel like to get this role back after so many years. Further adding he said coincidently when he was wishing to come back he learn that there were talks in the Warner Bros studio as well and they called him. There were indications of Batman and they wanted to talk to him about something.”
Late last year, Keaton spoke on The Jess Cagle Show about his return to The Flash.
It has to be good. There’s no reason to do it if it’s not good. It’s not gonna really change anything. And I just jumped in and had fun. And why would you not? You know, I mean, director Andy Muschietti is fantastic, and he’s really creative. I don’t know. It’s fun.”
Muschietti of IT will helm The Flash, and Christina Hodson of Birds of Prey and Batgirl will pen the story. Ezra Miller will play Barry Allen/The Flash, Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will portray Bruce Wayne/Batman, Sasha Calle will be seen as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Ron Livingston will play Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Ian Loh will be seen as a young Barry Allen, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso will play roles that are currently unknown.
The Flash is set to premiere in June 23, 2023
