Marvel Is Using A Fan Theory Endgame Title For Real

Marvel Comics have officially used a fan-favourite guess for real after fans of the MCU wondered what the title of Endgame would be for months before. The title for the 2019 team-up release was a secret until a teaser reveal.

However, an upcoming Marvel venture seems to have taken inspiration from fans of the MCU. Before the release of Endgame’s title, fans had theorized correctly keeping in mind the various plot points. They guessed that after Infinity War, there will be a substantial time jump. Fans had also theorized that there would be time travel.

Fans came up with a title keeping in mind the key leaked and overall time travel adventure and guessed that the movie would be named, Avengers: Forever. However, that was not the case for Endgame but it will be the title of an upcoming event from creators Jason Aaron and Aaron Kuder.

As per the company, the event “…pulls together archaeologist Tony Stark, AKA the Invincible Ant-Man, and Avengers from across the multiverse to bring order to timelines where ‘hope’ is a four-letter word.” The series will also see the Avengers’ famous title from Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to Multiverse’s Mightiest Heroes.

Fans had also guessed the title like Avengers: Eternity; which refers to the concept of life and endless time in the Marvel Universe. Other title guesses also include Avengers: Annihilation, Avengers Assemble. Marvel writers do engage with the fans of the MCU; so it is not impossible that the title for the comics event came from popular fan theories.

The Multiverse will be an important event as Tony Stark is written as Ant-Man. Tony might be dead in the MCU but he is very much alive; and an A-list character in the comic books. This event should bring some solace to fans; and will be the only one of the eight major titles revealed by Marvel Comics. Marvel has not revealed any details about Avengers: Forever event but it will be held in December 2021.
