Leighton Meester is a mum again! Congratulations are in order for Queen B and her husband of six years, Adam Brody, who confirmed that they have welcomed their second child, a baby boy.
“I have a boy, and he’s a dream”
The “O.C.” alum confirmed the news on Twitch’s The Fun Time Boys Game Night Spectacular show, saying, “I have a new kid,” said Adam of becoming a parent for the second time. “I have a boy, and he’s a dream. He’s a dream boy.” News that the couple were expecting their second child first broke in April when Leighton was spotted walking around LA. The pair, who co-star on “Single Parents,” already have a daughter named Arlo, who they welcomed in August 2015.
The newest family addition also comes six years after Leighton and Adam tied the knot in a top-secret ceremony. The two first met in 2010 on the set of their movie “The Oranges.” They reportedly started dating in February 2013 and have ever since been notoriously private about their romance. The couple confirmed their engagement in November 2013, and secretly tied the knot in February 2014.
Leighton and Adam are known as a fairly private Hollywood couple. In fact, they never even officially announced the pregnancy news. It wasn’t until the paparazzi snapped a few shots of Leighton’s baby bump, looking visibly pregnant in April 2020 that everyone learned she was expecting. This won’t come as a surprise to the couple’s fans who know how much they enjoy their privacy.

On April 15, the “Monte Carlo” actress clapped back against some mean comments during an Instagram Live session with her ” Single Parents” costar Kimrie Lewis. “Somebody just told me I got fat. That’s really nice,” said the pregnant actress and singer. Lewis agreed, responding, “That is not nice, you guys.”
Brody and Meester also rarely discuss their daughter in public. “I don’t talk about Arlo very much. I am very proud of that area of my life. But I’m also really proud of the show, and of the work I do,” Meester revealed in a 2017 interview. “I think the perception is: You’re an ingenue, or you’re an icon, or you’re a mom. There’s no in between.”
“I stepped into the hardest job in the world: being a mom”
Talking more about their choice to maintain a private life, Adam spoke in an Interview with GQ last year. “We’re homebodies,” Adam revealed, regarding the couple’s decision to keep their personal lives out of the public eye. “We don’t go to a lot of things that perhaps we could, and don’t seek out promotion in that way. I’m not s–tting on anyone who monetizes that aspect of their life because I get it. But we’ve found this great balance so far that really works for us. We’re also not very active on social media,” the “Ready or Not” actor admitted.
Brody also revealed that the actress is “more inherently private than” he is. “I don’t seek publicity,” he told the publication, “but if I’m sitting next to you on the subway, I’ll tell you everything about me.”
The actor has previously spoken up about Parenthood and how becoming a dad has “given me a perspective on every aspect of my life. I’m the most content I’ve ever been.” Leighton also shared similar sentiments during a 2019 interview. “I feel that I am really lucky,” the actress voiced out loud, “and yet, still, I stepped into the hardest job in the world: being a mom.”
