Johny Lever’s daughter says there’s favouritism and no nepotism in Bollywood

Johny Lever’s daughter, Jamie Lever has talked about her own experience saying that there’s favouritism but no nepotism in Bollywood!

Since Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide, people have been criticising the Bollywood industry for nepotism. However, actor Johny Lever’s believes that there’s favouritism but no nepotism in Bollywood.

Talking to Mid Day, she recalled her own journey in this industry. She said, “I can talk about my journey, being a film child, a star-kid, although I don’t like saying that, I think when people talk about Nepotism, it doesn’t apply to all the star kids. Not all-star kids are given the privilege. I’ve had a very different journey. There’s favouritism, there’s no nepotism, there’s favouritism to a certain lot.”

She explained further how there’s favouritism to a friend’s child, there’s favouritism to a certain group of people you know. Jamie also added how her father didn’t make his work his life. “He went to work, shot for his films and came back home, that was his real life. His lived his real life which was his family, his friends, his spirituality. We were never a part of any filmy parties, we never went, we were never a part of any group. My dad was never filmy, my mother, as I said, came from a very humble background,” she said.

Adding more on the debate of nepotism, she said that she never used her father’s name to go for auditions and that her father never made any phone calls for her.

Jamie Lever is already quite popular on social media, especially for her mimicry videos. In the past, she has mimicked stars like Sonam Kapoor and Farah Khan.

Meanwhile, celebs like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and Sonakshi Sinha have been facing the blunt of the audience due to the nepotism debate.
