16 time WWE Champion John Cena has highly praised both Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar ahead of their WrestleMania 38 match. Reigns and Lesnar are scheduled to face off in the “Winner Takes All Title Unification” match at WrestleMania 38. The winner of the fight will emerge from the grand finale with both the top titles on his shoulder.
John Cena’s thoughts on both the wrestlers
WWE legend John Cena recently spoke to Forbes and shared his sincere thoughts with Reigns and Lesnar. He praised the latter for his latest show of depth in his character work. See Cena’s comment below
“He totally can do it all, he’s not just a strong guy, and an agile guy, he has such depth of character. And the fact that he was holding in these promos for so long and unleashing them now—truthfully, it shows how good, and how patient and how smart he is.”
The 16-year-old champion also acknowledged Reigns’ growth as an actor on WWE TV two years ago or more.
“And Roman has grown so much from that match we saw years ago. And now it is truly a coin-flip. These are two of the best guys, at their peak, fighting for the most important prize with narrative and story behind it. And each one truly believes in themselves and their own truth,” Cena said.
John Cena’s history with Brock and Roman
John Cena and Brock Lesnar have clashed on WWE TV on various occasions in the past. Lesnar won their 2003 dispute over the WWE title. When Lesnar returned to WWE in 2012, he immediately directed Cena to RAW.
This time, it was Cena who put Lesnar down. The most notable of these two games was SummerSlam 2014, in which The Beast Incarnate knocked out the world champion 16 times in a show of green power and dominance.
Cena has clashed with Roman Reigns twice. Their 2017 feud culminated in the No Mercy dream game, in which Reigns won. Last year, the latter defeated Cena again in the Universal Championship match at SummerSlam.
