Joe Budden, an American rapper has recently been slammed for making racially insensitive remarks about K-pop hit BTS. The K-pop group is considered one of the most popular boybands in the world.
Budden recently stated on his show that he despises BTS.
“Get mad at me, but I hate them BTS n***as.”
The co-hosts of the show, Ice and Ish explained that disliking them for no reason was wrong. Budden said he did not need a reason to hate the group. “Do I need a reason? I hate them n***as. I don’t have to divulge my reason to you, I just hate them n***as.”
The rapper went on to rant and denounced BTS’ work. He said he does not want to hear their work or see their dance moves. Budden strongly added, “I don’t wanna see you come down in the sky in a little umbrella. I don’t wanna see your four f***in’ co-tees come from the audience and link up like Voltron and do all of the 98 Degrees moves. I don’t wanna see none of this sh*t.”
Continuing his rant, he went on to mistake the K-pop group’s identity and said they were from China. He acknowledged that they are really big and he does not want to see them. The rapper said, “I don’t want to see Korean-Sync.”
Joe Budden’s provocative statements shocked BTS ARMY (the group’s followers), and many turned to social media to attack the rapper. BTS is without a doubt one of the most well-known names in the modern music business. The K-pop group emerged in 2013 and quickly became a global phenomenon, amassing one of the world’s largest fan bases.
BTS ARMY Slam Budden
Clearly, this would impact their huge fan base as they were dismayed to hear the rapper’s inflammatory remarks. Some fans because of this turned to Twitter to slam the rapper.
As the internet outrage grew, Joe Budden maintained his stand and issued a series of tweets explaining his actions. It remains to be seen whether BTS will respond to Budden’s remarks in the coming days. The current turmoil comes after the duo stunned the music world with a stunning performance of their popular song Butter at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
