Iranian Model Megan Pormer Spearheads Effort to Send Medicine and Supplies to Iran During Coronavirus Outbreak

Iranian-American model Megan Pormer, who made headlines after wearing a dress promoting peace between the US and Iran at the 2020 Grammys, is working with medical professionals and companies in Beverly Hills to send critical medicine and supplies to Iran. Over the past month, Iran has been ravaged by the coronavirus and the death toll continues to rise.

“In the last two weeks, a lot of my family members, close friends, fans and followers in Iran have reached out to me and asked me to send them medications and supplies that would help them with the coronavirus,” Pormer said. “The situation in Iran is devastating right now as more and more people are getting this virus including some of my closest childhood friends. The people there are in urgent need.”

Megan Pormer, who holds a PH.D and has worked in the biomedical engineering field, said she felt compelled to take immediate action. “I have partnered up with some of the top Beverly Hills doctors who are supplying medications that could help with the coronavirus. I also working with two medical supplies companies who are providing necessities such as hand sanitizer, gloves and masks.”

The United States government under the Trump administration recently eased sanctions against Iran to allow for trade in medical supplies and food. “I am so grateful to the US government for extending their hand to help the people of Iran. The sanctions were our biggest roadblock. Now that humanitarian goods are being exempted, we can move forward with getting help to the people who need it most.”

Pormer continued, “I am so grateful to God that I am able to use my platform at a time of need. The first shipment of supplies is set to go out this Thursday.”
