It will be a year in a few months and there is no confirmation coming for the next franchise of James Bond. Market research suggests that actor Idris Elba could be the choice to play the next 007. It was Daniel Craig’s last venture as the British spy, No Time to Die, released in September last year.
However, since the last hit, there have been talks about the next actor for this iconic role. Likewise, there is speculation and polls surfacing with new actors’ names. The list for the next 007 includes- Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Richard Madden, Rege-Jean, and more.
Above mentioned actors have a higher chance to act in the next James Bond franchise. But a new report suggests that it is Idris Elba who may take up the next 007. This came after market research and also according to a leading newspaper, Idris has long been in talks to play a role in the next era of James Bond. Though last year he was being considered for a role as an antagonist.
Likewise, producers of the series have been in talks about casting him in the lead. This came after they realised how popular he is after carrying out the research. It further stated that Idris Elba has “ranked highly among the diverse group of movie buffs invited to participate in it’.
With No Time To Die signals the end of the Daniel Craig era of James Bond. It’s unknown who will play the next Bond or what the next film will be about. But Bond, like Sherlock Holmes, is a traditionally British figure, which Gatiss appears to draw towards it in his work. While Gatiss obviously wants to work on the Bond franchise, his comments suggest that if he had the option, he would want to create something totally original that isn’t based on a piece of intellectual property that already exists.
