The Christmas cheers came early for Iron Man’s Gwyneth Paltrow fans as she does a Bitcoin giveaway for her Instagram and Twitter followers.
The Academy Award-winning actress posted an update for this on Instagram by saying that she wished to be “democratizing” people’s participation in the Bitcoin market. The star also added that she hoped to “do something special for my social community and empower them to learn more about cryptocurrency” by gifting the asset to her fans.
Paltrow is, in actuality, working with CashApp for the app’s publicity, with the giveaway ultimately lending a hand to promote CashApp’s new feature (which allows gifting in Bitcoin and stocks). She is set to gift $500,000 worth of Bitcoin or around 10 BTC through this move.
Buying crypto has often felt exclusionary. In order to democratize who can participate, @CashApp is now making it easy to gift Bitcoin. I’m giving out $500k worth of Bitcoin for the holidays. This gifting function supposedly enables users to send Bitcoin and equity to anyone they want to. The sender doesn’t really need to hold any funds in BTC or stocks to send such a gift, and the process is “as easy as sending cash.”
Looking for that last minute gift? We got you. With Cash App, you can now send as little as $1 in stock or bitcoin, and you don’t need to own any to gift it. It’s now as easy as sending cash, and way more festive. pic.twitter.com/0jiuLmXZCw— Cash App (@CashApp) December 20, 2021
Fans looking to join in on the holiday gifting season just need to comment on Paltrow’s Instagram or Twitter posts, and they may get selected and given up to $100 in Bitcoin, according to Cash App. As per the announcement, this giveaway will end by January 14, 2022.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Vested Interests In Bitcoin
Through the actress’s interview with ELLE, we’ve already gotten a personal account of how and why she got into the world of cryptocurrencies. It seems that Gwyneth Paltrow came to know more about this digital market back in 2017, primarily through a show she did for Apple TV called Planet of the Apps.
“As the years ensued, I started to really notice that women were not talking about crypto and were largely left out of the conversation.” Concerned about the lack of a women’s voice in the industry, Paltrow – with some of her friends – seems to have began a monthly “tutoring call” last year. She also remarked on the progress of the calls in the interview as “for the past year or so we’ve been learning about blockchain, all the different platforms, and the different tokens and NFTs.”
Another aspect conversed about by ELLE and Paltrow, was the effects of the enormously energy-intensive process of mining cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. The star notes of her support for sustainable Bitcoin mining, an angle that’s shown by her investment in the sustainable mining company Terawulf.
Gwyneth Paltrow closes the interview with the a solid assertion, claiming that she believes the digital market will play significant role in shaping the future of our economy. “I would just say that, as weird as it seems, this is the future. I cannot envision a future without cryptocurrency.”
