Evil Season 1 Set To Depart From Netflix In October 2021; Season 2 Not Expected

Fans are dejected and sorrowful as the season 1 of the thriller series titled ‘Evil’ will bid its goodbye to Netflix in October.

Fans expected Netflix to stream Evil Season 2 since it has already been released on Paramount+ but Netflix decided to give a shocker to the audience when it revealed that even the season 1 won’t be staying.

Evil Season 1

Netflix licensed Evil Season 1 from CBS. The first season of the show arrived on Netflix in October 2020. However, licensing troubles began when season 2 was released.

The show moved away from CBS to Paramount+. Evil has already been renewed for season 3 but it doesn’t seem like Netflix is getting a piece of it.

Storyline

The show’s storyline revolves around differently qualified detectives who investigate paranormal crimes and events. It received a lot of appreciation and fan following during its time on Netflix US.

Within a week of being released on Netflix US, Evil season 1 peaked at the fourth position on the TV Charts.

The series features Luke Cage star Mike Colter stars alongside Katja Herbers, Aasif Mandvi, Brooklyn Shuck, and Skylar Gray.

Why No Season 2?

According to Deadline, Netflix only had a single-year license to stream Evil. This means that the deal covered only the first season of the show.

Deadline, in its report stated that “CBS TV Studios sees the Netflix licensing deal as a promotional tool”.
