Everything You Need To Know About Black Lightning Season 4

Black Lightning is back for the fourth time now which is appearing to be last season at The CW.

Few Netflix regions are expected to receive the series for the fourth season in June 2021 as we will be outlining in this Netflix release schedule for Black Lightning season 4 below.

Netflix Original Series

Developed by Salim Akil, Black Lightning is one of the new rosters within Arrowverse that should have initially targeted Fox before returning to The CW.

One of the few DC titles from The CW to be considered as a Netflix Original series outside the United States.

Final Season

Cress Williams plays the role of Jefferson Pierce, a crime-fighting high-school principal who returns to his former life as Black Lightning.

As we said, season 4 will serve as the final season of Black Lightning with a spin-off that was originally planned to be called Painkiller, not going forward.

Season 4 was also very short compared to both seasons 2 and 3 returning to its 13-episode series length.

Season 4 is also delayed due to film restrictions due to the pandemic. It was first shown on February 8, 2021 and was recently wrapped up on May 24, 2021.

Release Date In US

The US continues to acquire Black Lightning as part of the old Netflix and CW release agreement.

That traditionally meant that the new season episodes came to Netflix eight days after the conclusion was aired but we have not yet received confirmation that this is happening.

If the show reaches Netflix US during this 8-day release period, it should arrive on June 1, 2021 but again, there is no guarantee.

Outside The US

Outside of the US, Netflix treats the show as Netflix Original which includes regions such as the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.

Although some of the previous episodes have hit Netflix worldwide every week it has stopped happening since season 3.

Instead, the series descends on Netflix in the same way as the US even though it is not exactly the same day.

Netflix Canada has been the only region confirmed so far that it will receive Black Lightning season 4 on June 29, 2021. We expect this from other regions as well!
