Emma Stone Responds To Rumours Of Her Return For Spider-Man: No Way Home

Emma Stone is aware of all the rumours circulating that she will be back as Gwen Stacy for Spider-Man: No Way Home. She has finally decided to respond to those rumours. All the rumours started when it was reported that Jamie Foxx is reprising his role as Electro in the Jon Watts movie.

The speculations by fans have suggested that this means the other characters from the previous Sony projects that surround the friendly neighbourhood superhero. This not just includes Emma but other Spider-Man actors like Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield as well as their respective love interests.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will reportedly be Marvel Studios’ live-action attempt at a Spider-verse story on the heels of the animated film’s success. Other than the characters mentioned above, Charlie Cox from Netflix and the other side of the franchise is also supposedly reprising his role as Matt Murdoch.

However, so far only Andrew Molina has confirmed that he’s returning as Doc Ock from Spider-Man 2 in the MCU. Andrew, on the other hand, denied the rumours and walked back on immediately after. When his love interest, Emma was asked about returning to her role for the upcoming movie, she too maintained that she is not attached to the project.

She shared that she is aware that there have been rumours about it. The actress was speaking to MTV News to promote her latest movie, Cruella. She kept her response brief saying that she isn’t involved in the Marvel Studios project. Emma said, “I have heard those rumours. I don’t know if I’m supposed to say anything, but I’m not [involved].”I’m not. I don’t know what you’re supposed to respond as an alumnus (laughs).” When rumours came around about Spider-Man: No Way Home focusing on the multiverse, fans were surprised.

The previous movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home’s mid-credits scene had set up a different movie with the idea that the third instalment will see the hero dealing with his identity being revealed. However, since the movie is confirmed to revolve around the narrative connections with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, many are convinced that the multiverse will be explored.

But there have been no reports about Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme character’s appearance. This also makes the involvement of other versions of Spider-Man even their leading ladies more likely to come back. But it is also important to note that Emma’s character had died in the movie. This will make sense if her involvement is not included in the upcoming venture.
