Childhood Classic Pinocchio Film To Take Place In Italy’s Fascism Era

Same old character, but with a different approach and another fascinating story, this time!

Since childhood we have read the stories of the character “Pinocchio”, the one who whenever lies his nose gets bigger. Guillermo Del Toro is making a stop motion animation film on this famous character, which will be released on Netflix.

But it won’t be the same classic story that we have read in our childhoods, the story which told us to always do “the right thing”, this time the story will teach us to be ourselves no matter what. It’s not just to walk on the path that the people show you and be obedient to follow it but to find your own place in this world to know when it’s okay to be obedient and when it’s not.

The story of Pinnochio will take place in Italy at the time of world war during the rise of fascism. Pinnochio gets hired in a military camp, where fascist officials plan to make him a perfect soldier as he never dies.

There were several images which were revealed by Del Toro in the Vanity Fair interview, also he spoke about how he sees similarities between Pinnochio & Frankenstein he says,” I’ve always been very intrigued by the links between ‘Pinocchio ‘ and ‘Frankenstein.’ They are both about a child that is thrown into the world. They are both created by a father who then expects them to figure out what’s good, what’s bad, the ethics, the morals, love, life, and essentials on their own. I think that was, for me, childhood. You had to figure it out with your very limited experience.”

Previously a short Netflix teaser of Pinnochio raise the expectations of the audience because of which they wanted to know more about it and the director gave out some details for the same.
