Cameron Diaz absolutely loves being a new mom. The Mask actress recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and she couldn’t stop gushing about her 6-month-old daughter, Raddix.
The former model and actress described being in lockdown with her six-month-old as ‘heaven’, telling the NBC late night host on Wednesday that motherhood is ‘just amazing’.

“It’s been heaven, Jimmy,” she gushes to host Jimmy Fallon, explaining that her daughter is growing “so fast.” Diaz confessed she now understands how right her friends, who are mothers, were, when they warned her to cherish every single moment of her baby’s early life.
“Literally every single day, there’s just leaps and bounds. And she’s not the same baby that she was yesterday,” Diaz shares. “Where was yesterday? Yesterday is literally gone, and today is a new day, and tomorrow will be a new day that she’s a completely different baby.”
But the actress is clearly grateful to see her baby grow. “But it’s so gratifying to actually get to see that growth and to be a part of it,” she continues. “It’s just amazing. It’s the best thing that ever happened to both Benji and I,” referring to her husband of 6 years, musician, Benji Madden. “We’re just so happy.”
The couple who got married in 2015, welcomed their daughter on 3rd January earlier this year, announcing the good news on Instagram. However, they have managed to maintain their privacy ever since.
“I’m like, Yep, that’s my girl!”
Diaz also reveals that her taste in music has changed since becoming a mom. With Madden being a musician and a member of the rock band, Good Charlotte, with brother Joel, there’s plenty of music in the house. “We have Baby Shark on rotation,’ Diaz confessed to Fallon. ‘We have Elmo’s Song, we have Sesame Street. It’s crazy. We’re like jamming out over there, and she loves it!’
Raddix has also developed quite a keen sense of rhythm according to her parents. “It’s like she changes,” Diaz says of her daughter listening to music. “When we go on car drives, Benji will put on some Cuban, Afro-Cuban music, and she is in her car seat and her little legs are kicking. And I’m like, ‘Yep, that’s my girl!'”
“It just makes my heart wanna explode”
Since welcoming Raddix, Madden has also written and performed several original songs for their daughter, which were inspired by her as well. “She just loves it. She just looks at her daddy and loves him so much and it just makes my heart wanna explode,” Diaz shared.
An Insider source close to the family said, “Despite everything that’s going on, Cameron and Benji are having the best year as a family. They are the perfect team and love being parents.” The source went on to reveal, “For years, Cameron wanted to be a mom. She loves it more than she imagined.”
Cameron’s beau sang his wife’s praises in an adorable Mother’s Day post earlier this year. “Whether waking up extra early to take care of everyone (3 humans and a dozen animals) or doing all the research and reading to make sure we try our best to be good parents for our daughter. She’s a force of nature and I’m very grateful.”
The happy couple have been sticking close to home and have spent time with Madden’s twin brother and Good Charlotte band mate, Joel Madden, and his wife Nicole Richie.
Promoting Her Latest Business Venture
Diaz, who is known to be fiercely private about her personal life, has lately been doing interviews in order to promote her latest business venture. A wine brand called Avaline.
She has partnered with her friend and Who What Wear co-founder, Katherine Power to create a rose and a dry white. Both of which have just gone on sale at select retailers. They are described as ‘clean wines’ that are made using organic and non-GMO grapes sourced from vineyards in France and Spain.
