2022 was a big year for Jungkook of BTS who was part of three songs as a solo artist. The three songs were – Stay Alive, Left And Right, and Dreamers. Jungkook broke several records to become the most successful K-Pop soloist of 2022. It’s a new year, but Jungkook’s songs are continuing to break new records every other day.
“Left And Right” a song that Jungkook released with popular American singer Charlie Puth has surpassed 500 Million streams on Spotify. The song has been able to achieve this feat in 232 days which is the fastest-ever record for a solo by a K-Pop solo artist. The record was previously held by the smash hit MONEY by LISA of BLACKPINK which took 309 days to reach 500M streams.
For the collaboration webtoon 7Fates:Chakho, produced by Hybe and Naver Webtoon, Jungkook of BTS released the song “Stay Alive” as the soundtrack. Shin Won Park, El Capitxn, Maria Marcus, Louise Frick Sveen, Gabriel Brandes, Matt Thomson, and Max Lynedoch Graham of Arcades co-wrote the song, which was produced by BTS bandmate Suga. On February 11, 2022, it first became available digitally as a stand-alone single.
In Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam, the song peaked at number one on the charts, while it also reached the top 10 in Hungary, India, Japan, and New Zealand. It resulted in Jungkook’s first solo entrance on the Billboard Hot 100 at position 95 and at position 13 on the Global 200. The song also made history as the first Korean soundtrack to ever make its debut on the UK’s Official Singles Chart.
On June 24, 2022, Atlantic Records released “Left and Right,” the third single from American singer-songwriter and producer Charlie Puth’s third studio album Charlie. The song features South Korean vocalist Jungkook of the boy band BTS. Puth and Jacob Kasher Hindlin both contributed to the writing, with Puth also serving as the song’s producer.
